CARDIOLOGICAL VISIT
A cardiology visit is a check-up aimed at producing a diagnosis of any heart problems or to ascertain their absence. The visit usually includes a baseline electrocardiogram (ECG), an echocardiogram if necessary, auscultation of the heart and chest and the latero-cervical regions (carotids), measurement of blood pressure in both limbs, palpation of the abdomen, inspection, evaluation and palpation of the limbs (search for peripheral pulses, signs of edema and lymphedema, varicose veins, lesions, etc.), anamnesis (collection of clinical data, including any medications taken), evaluation of laboratory tests and any previous cardiological and non-cardiological documentation.
ARRHYTHMOLOGICAL VISIT
This is a specialist consultation performed by an arrhythmologist-electrophysiologist for problems related to alterations in the heart rhythm, both in the tachycardic sense (palpitations with the heart beating fast) and all situations involving the slowing of the heartbeat (bradycardia).
The consultation starts from the anamnesis (collection of clinical data, including any medications taken), the evaluation of old electrocardiograms (where present) and continues with a visit including an electrocardiogram, at the end of which the arrhythmologist will evaluate whether to continue with any tests (frequently the cardiac Holter) and will suggest the therapy to be performed or will indicate interventional therapies (Ablation, Pacemaker Implantation. Defibrillator Implantation etc).
